Are you looking for a resource to support phonemic instruction in your French Immersion classroom?

Instruction in phonemic awareness is key to preventing reading issues in emergent readers; it is also critical in reading intervention with struggling readers. Regardless of the language of instruction, students need to be able to work with the oral sounds of language in order to link them to print in both reading and spelling. Pratique Phonémique is a phonemic awareness program for students in FSL classrooms. With French instructional routines and activities, teachers will be able to quickly and easily add French phonemic awareness instruction into literacy programming to support all learners - with no prep. In this session, we'll review the nuts and bolts of phonemic awareness and showcase what this instruction looks like in literacy instruction for both emergent and struggling readers.
